The Best Gauteng SEO Company - Beau Digital™

The tech behemoths like Amazon, Meta, Apple, Google, and Microsoft have finally seen their investments in artificial intelligence come to fruition. This week, Google and Microsoft made significant announcements that mark the beginning of a new race to become the leader in the AI field.

On February 6th, Google introduced Bard, its response to OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Google leveraged its LaMDA language generation technology to shape its new conversational AI service, which aims to provide more personalized and creative information in response to search queries. At a recent event, the company shared more about Bard’s focus on enhancing its existing tools through AI. Some of the features we can expect soon are: generating answers for ambiguous search queries, multisearch using image and text, 3D views with weather and traffic information in Google Maps, EV driver assistance, and an AR feature in Google Lens that blends translated text into images.

Bard, like ChatGPT, is a search bar with a chatbot that generates answers, but the answers generated by Bard, like other AI services, are not always accurate. Bard is currently only available for closed testing to a limited number of users and its release date to the general public is unknown.

On the other hand, Microsoft also took a step forward by integrating the new generation of ChatGPT into its Edge browser and Bing search engine. This could change Bing’s fortunes, which currently has a 9% market share worldwide and has been overshadowed by Google. The new Bing, integrated with OpenAI’s GPT 3.5 language model, offers a chat experience with the ability to generate content and interact with the chatbot. Microsoft is also launching two new AI-enhanced features for Edge: “chat” and “compose.” The Chat feature allows users to use the chatbot to search and ask about the content they are viewing, while the Compose feature allows users to create new content based on this information. There is currently a waitlist for the public version of these new Bing features.

This year is expected to bring changes to the way we interact on the web, with other big names like Alibaba working on their own alternatives to ChatGPT. Regardless of who implements the technology better, it’s clear that AI is here to stay and will change the way we use the web.
